Η ιστορία του είναι από τις πιο γοητευτικές στην Αθήνα, καθώς πρόκειται για τον παλαιότερο καφενέ της περιοχής.

Το ξεκίνημα (Δεκαετία του ’30)

Το καφενείο άνοιξε στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 1930 (γύρω στο 1935) από τον Γιώργο Ρίζο. Στην εποχή του Μεσοπολέμου λειτουργούσε ως κλασικό αστικό καφενείο — στέκι γειτονιάς, σημείο συνάντησης, πολιτικών συζητήσεων και χαλάρωσης για τους Αθηναίους.

Η εξέλιξη μέσα στα χρόνια

Πέρασε από διάφορες φάσεις και αλλαγές, διατηρώντας πάντα την αίγλη του σημείου, ακριβώς στη μικρή πλατεία της Ζακλίν ντε Ρομιγύ (Ακάμαντος 2) με θέα την Ακρόπολη.

Its story is one of the most fascinating in Athens, as it is the oldest traditional café in the area.

The Beginning (1930s)

The café opened in the early 1930s (around 1935) and was founded by George Rizos. During the interwar period, it operated as a classic urban Greek café — a neighborhood meeting place, a hub for political discussions, and a spot where Athenians could relax and socialize.

Its Evolution Over the Years

It went through various phases and changes over the decades, while always retaining the charm and significance of its location, right on the small square of Jacqueline de Romilly (2 Akamantos Street), overlooking the Acropolis.
